A comment or two…
I am only teaching Math SL this year and the content that I add (this year) will be focused around the SL syllabus. If you are looking for HL specific materials… Sorry. I just don't have the time, yet.
Above is a (growing) table of contents of the pages that I have completed or started. As always I am up for suggestions for improvements (of any type). In particular I am looking to add applets or such that help to visualize a concept. Instructional videos if they aren't too boring could be helpful to. If you have a suggestion please leave a note or line below or on the resource page.
Math HL:
1- Older Exams and Answers to their questions with explanation
2- Going over all topics with exercises
3- Maybe videos? (explanations)
4- Some kind of advice on organising studying time ( how many hours and exercises shall be spent on a specific topic for example)
5- Possibility to contact an IB Math HL teacher and ask questions?
Most of those suggestions are great and will be included.
I am looking into creating a resource for my own students to ask and answer questions. It would also be open to students from other schools. Not sure the best resource for that… Facebook has a discussion feature that might work or just use the forums here at wikidot.
math contest problems
jokes?
Please DO NOT put jokes on this website. if u do, us HL students who have a knack for procrastination will never ever EVER get any work done. Could you please notify us once section of the website is up and running? also, please put explainations for questions. your physics site is absolutely amazing. merci beaucoup! <3
Please focus on maths HL!!!
I recently found out I will only be teaching SL Math next year so that will be my focus. On the upside I will be teaching year 1 and 2 at the same time so the SL resources will develop doubly as quick…
Hey thanks a lot for this. It's really helpful, and the wit helps digest it all the day before an exam.
Cheers
I know you hate gimmicks, but this is a convenient method to use in the non-calculator paper, because you don't actually have to remember anything. The site says I can't put links, so the video code is: watch?v=ZerlFfNZeQg
i.e. youtube.com\watch?v=ZerlFfNZeQg with a "/" instead of the backslash "\"
Thanks for the video. It's a good one - it makes use of some interesting patterns in the trig functions. I'll add it to the appropriate page.
That is a gimmick, but when a teacher or program forces you to memorize then gimmicks are great…
