what is the limit of ((x^2-1)^0.5)/x when x approaches ∞ ？？

Knowing the answer to that is certainly beyond the SL syllabus. The way to solve this problem is to use L'Hopital's Rule.

Wolfram alpha can also be used to find the answer (which is 1)

How come on the last problem (4) the answer is 5 and not -5?

because as x approches 0, it can only be 5+0
