In expression (2), x should approach 2 and not infinity, isn't it ?

Yep. That's a boneheaded mistake. Will fix it. Thanks.
what is the limit of ((x^2-1)^0.5)/x when x approaches ∞ ??
thax so much!
Knowing the answer to that is certainly beyond the SL syllabus. The way to solve this problem is to use L'Hopital's Rule.

Wolfram alpha can also be used to find the answer (which is 1)

How come on the last problem (4) the answer is 5 and not -5?
